How to find true love, the Jennifer Lopez way

"What if I never find and I'm left behind?

Should I keep hoping for love?

What if I'm still the same?

Status doesn't change?

Gotta keep hoping for love "

These lines from Jennifer Lopez's song "(What is) Love?" briefly describes her take on the subject. Despite three failed marriages (that’s 3 “I dos” by the way), it is her hope in love that she got another chance at it. This time in the form of Alex Rodriguez.

The couple got engaged on 9th March, 2019 and the singer recently shared some really cute photos from the engagement on Instagram. While we did go ga-ga (no pun intended) over the adorable couple, it was difficult to keep our eyes off the $1 million diamond ring. Having dated for almost over two years (the length of a marriage too by the way), they are now heading to the altar. And as they do so, let us take love tips from the 49-year-old beauty on how to never lose hope for finding true love, sooner or later.

As inspiring as it may sound, it is never easy to believe that true love will come by. It can be extremely discouraging, especially when you fail at relationships so many times. So, how Jlo is our question? Well, let’s read on to find out.

In an interview to Hello Magazine on 2015, Lopez spoke about her thoughts on relationships, "I still believe in the fairy tale. The more I work on myself, the more I give myself the opportunity to share a really deep and meaningful relationship that can give me my fairy tale and last forever. Listen, at the end of the day, love is the best thing. But what I've discovered is that I can't get that from somebody else. It's the love inside me, for myself, that will help me through."

When it came to her failed relationships, she believed she was at fault. She confessed how she never gave herself time to heal and always felt comfort in other's company, "Instead of giving myself time to heal and be on my own, I was so afraid to be that I was always like, 'Okay somebody else just come in here and help me forget I'm in so much pain.'"

Lopez told Harper's Bazaar, "But it didn’t have to do with anybody else but me — it was about me figuring out me. Until you learn to love yourself, you can’t completely love [someone else] in a way that is pure and true. Once you do that, you can have relationships that are based on love and respect, that are supportive and nourishing. There’s an evolution there that had to happen for me."  We hope you are taking notes?

Lopez first met Rodriguez at a Yankees match at 2005. But there was no spark then. It was only after 12 years that they reconnected. On April 2017, in an episode of Ellen, Lopez talked about how she bumped into him while she was at a restaurant in Beverly Hills and how that lead to a dinner date.

About Rodriguez, Lopez said, "I understand him in a way that I don’t think anyone else could, and he understands me in a way that no one else could ever.” Such relationships are worth hoping and waiting for.
