The latest ethnic wear trend - Gujarat Patola saree

Traditional Indian weave is known for its rich history and beautiful weaving intricacies. One such weaving technique that has become popular of late is the Gujarat Patola. Having derived its name from the Sanskrit word ‘pattakulla’, this one-of-a-kind weave is manufactured by the dyeing process using the warp and weft technique.

It is the huge number of hours that weaving a patola takes, that makes it so precious and expensive. In addition to that, is their unfading bright colours that makes them so special. It is also a part of a bride’s trousseau in Gujarat.

The traditional weave has now been modernized to suit the needs of the modern women. With new patterns and a variety of colours, it has become an ethnic trend in its own right.
