Milan FW19 - Everything you need to know

follow

We got a glimpse of MFW street style and what we caught on the runway. And we are just dying over what we’ve seen. With the colder climate, we saw more layers and heavier fabric, and Spring has never looked better.

To get the Milan look, try:

1. Asymmetrical cuts in skirts and Spring coats

2. Kitten heels

3. Vintage bags

4. Vintage print like micro-florals

5. Layers in textures

6. Oversized jackets

7. The colour teal

8. Bold prints

9. The colour rust

Let’s look at this season’s hottest Italian Spring look. The busy print is great for layering. Add a dash of embellishment for the Spring Italian look. It’s all about the sequins, print, and mesh.

Look for bold statement colours for a pop of jewel tones in your look. Be sure to pair a bold jacket with print or complimenting sequins.

Another huge hit this season is texture and semi-precious stones. This trend ties in well with the polka dot trend we’re seeing this Spring. Feel free to experiment with various textures, colour gradients, and art.

Another great look this season is rust and warmer shades of red. Mix with textures to get this look.

Rust and suede is a great way to blend two of the season’s best elements. Rust is great for most skin tones and compliments the warmth Summer will bring.

Shades of teal also resonate this season, with the coolness of Spring rains and the blend of nature infused with the midnight sky.

Transparency with colour is also something we can add on to our look. Since this season is all about mesh, sequins, sheerness, print, and jewel tone colours, adding a pop of contrasting colour or head-to-toe in rust can qualify you to be a street style fashionista.

Opal is a great way to accentuate rust this season. Opt for organic materials and colours. The rough texture brings us back to the essence of the season: rawness.

Scarves are also essential for the cold, and paired with the right texture can harmonize your Spring 2019 look straight from Milan!

Florals and wrap dresses are also huge this year, it’s a great way to represent Spring Summer Italian style!

Italian Spring showed us jewel tones and warmer Victorian colours are here to stay from last year. The idea behind Milan Fashion Week was personalization and self-expression. We think the intricate detailing of embroidery and texture comes from the vintage elements of the retro age and Baroque period.
